ANIMALS: Imposes a regulatory fee on alternative livestock programs
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 3:3107, relative to imported exotic deer and antelope, elk, and farm-raised2
white tail deer and other exotic cervidae; to provide for a regulatory fee; to provide3
for the redesignation of certain provisions of Title 3 of the Louisiana Revised4
Statutes of 1950; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 3:3107 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง3107. Regulatory fee8
The commissioner may charge a service fee on alternative livestock programs9
in Louisiana. The fee shall be established by rule adopted in accordance with the10
Administrative Procedure Act. The proceeds of the fee shall be used to defray the11
costs of services to the alternative livestock industry in Louisiana. The fee shall be12
collected annually upon the renewal of the license in the state of Louisiana. The13
amount of the fee shall be based on the cost of regulating the alternative livestock14
industry.15
Section 2.(A) The provisions of R.S. 3:3102 are hereby redesignated and16
renumbered to R.S. 3:3103.17
(B) The provisions of R.S. 3:3103 are hereby redesignated and renumbered18

Proposed law allows the commissioner of LDAF to charge a service fee on imported exotic
deer and antelope, elk, and farm-raised white tail deer and other exotic cervidae to defray
the costs of services to the alternative livestock industry. Provides for the fee to be collected
annually at the time of license renewal.
