HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 114
BY REPRESENTATIVE MACK
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Clay Parker of Hammond for his accomplishments upon being selected to
participate in the National Rifle Association's annual National Youth Education
Summit.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend and celebrate the accomplishments of Clay
Parker, who has been selected to participate in the National Rifle Association's annual
National Youth Education Summit; and
WHEREAS, Clay Parker is a sophomore at St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic
High School in Hammond, Louisiana, where he is an honor student and maintains a 4.0
grade point average; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Parker is an active participant in the St. Thomas Aquinas Regional
Catholic High School community; he is a member of the Beta, Interact, and 4-H clubs on
campus, participant in district literary rallies, and member of the football and golf teams; and
WHEREAS, in addition to being a straight-A student, community volunteer, and
athlete, Mr. Parker is an avid sports shooter; he serves as a Louisiana State Shooting Sports
Teen Ambassador, participates in the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports program through the
Louisiana State University Ag Center, is president of the Tangipahoa Parish Shooting Sports
club, and has won numerous awards at the local, regional, and state level in the hunting,
archery, and shotgun disciplines; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Parker was selected among numerous qualified applicants as one
of forty-six students nationwide to participate in the National Rifle Association's annual
National Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.); and
WHEREAS, as a Y.E.S. participant, Mr. Parker will receive an expense paid trip to
Washington, D.C., where he will learn the significance of the United States Constitution and ENROLLEDHCR NO. 114

the Bill of Rights while developing an understanding of government and the importance of
actively participating in it. 
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and honor Clay Parker of Hammond upon being chosen to participate in the
National Rifle Association's National Youth Education Summit, does hereby express utmost
respect for the exemplary strides he has taken as a citizen, and does hereby wish him full
measures of success and happiness in the years to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Clay Parker.
