COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Buckeye High School girls softball team upon
winning the Class 3A state championship
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the Buckeye High School girls softball team upon winning the 2012 Class 3A2
state championship.3
WHEREAS, the Buckeye High School girls softball team completed a sensational4
season, earning the title of 2012 Class 3A state champions; and 5
WHEREAS, the Buckeye High School's 7-3 victory over Parkview Baptist at Frasch6
Park on Saturday, April 28, marked the Lady Panthers' first ever championship win; and7
WHEREAS, each of the following Lady Panthers performed at the highest level of8
excellence throughout the season and playoffs and deserves recognition for her vital9
contributions to the winning effort: Lacie Nugent, Lynsie Nugent, Jessica Johnson, Destinie10
Dauzart, Brittany Derbonne, Paris Hernandez, Tori Kessler, Caitlyn Touchet, Danielle11
Burlew, Chelsea Guillot, Kenedy Lampert, Mandi Moses, Desiree Paul, Hannah Roberts,12
Faith Parish, Shae Schreckengost, and Mikayla Brown, who was named the most valuable13
player; and14
WHEREAS, the Lady Panthers' accomplishments during this unforgettable season15
would not have been possible without the guidance and skills of head coach Darlene Wiley,16
assistant coaches Aubrey Wiley and Melissa Grimmett, team managers Cassidy Crews and17
Laiken Fussell, statisticians Taylor Brown and Taylor Campbell, and all of the other18

WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the Lady1
Panthers, and all Buckeye High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and2
distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby4
commend the Buckeye High School girls softball team upon winning the 2012 Class 3A5
state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players, coaches, and6
everyone involved with this fine softball program as they celebrate their exceptional season7
and prepare for continued success in the future.8
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted9
to Coach Darlene Wiley.10
