ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 120 BY REPRESENTATIVE HAZEL AND SENATOR RISER A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend the Buckeye High School girls softball team upon winning the 2012 Class 3A state championship. WHEREAS, the Buckeye High School girls softball team completed a sensational season, earning the title of 2012 Class 3A state champions; and WHEREAS, the Buckeye High School's 7-3 victory over Parkview Baptist at Frasch Park on Saturday, April 28, marked the Lady Panthers' first ever championship win; and WHEREAS, each of the following Lady Panthers performed at the highest level of excellence throughout the season and playoffs and deserves recognition for her vital contributions to the winning effort: Lacie Nugent, Lynsie Nugent, Jessica Johnson, Destinie Dauzart, Brittany Derbonne, Paris Hernandez, Tori Kessler, Caitlyn Touchet, Danielle Burlew, Chelsea Guillot, Kenedy Lampert, Mandi Moses, Desiree Paul, Hannah Roberts, Faith Parish, Shae Schreckengost, and Mikayla Brown, who was named the most valuable player; and WHEREAS, the Lady Panthers' accomplishments during this unforgettable season would not have been possible without the guidance and skills of head coach Darlene Wiley, assistant coaches Aubrey Wiley and Melissa Grimmett, team managers Cassidy Crews and Laiken Fussell, statisticians Taylor Brown and Taylor Campbell, and all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's softball program; and WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the Lady Panthers, and all Buckeye High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Buckeye High School girls softball team upon winning the 2012 Class 3A state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players, coaches, and ENROLLEDHCR NO. 120 Page 2 of 2 everyone involved with this fine softball program as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
