COMMENDATIONS:  Commends Rueben Randle for his contributions to the LSU football
team and extends to him best wishes for success in his professional career
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Rueben Randle for his contributions to the Louisiana State University football2
team and to extend to him best wishes for continued success in his professional3
career.4
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Rueben Randle for his outstanding5
accomplishments; and6
WHEREAS, a native of Bastrop, Louisiana, Rueben Randle is a graduate of Bastrop7
High School, where he earned numerous honors during his extremely successful high school8
football career; and9
WHEREAS, in three seasons at LSU, Mr. Randle distinguished himself as an10
exceptional wide receiver; and11
WHEREAS, in his junior season at LSU, Mr. Randle had fifty-three catches for nine12
hundred seventeen yards and eight touchdowns, leading the Tigers and ranking third in the13
Southeastern Conference (SEC) in receiving yards; and14
WHEREAS, in his three-year stint with the Tigers, Mr. Randle had a total of ninety-15
seven receptions for one thousand six hundred thirty-four yards and thirteen touchdowns,16
and he recorded five one-hundred-yard receiving games; and17
WHEREAS, in 2011, the Tigers finished the regular season with a perfect undefeated18
record of 12-0, won their thirteenth consecutive game of the season with victory in the SEC19
Championship, and earned a berth in the national championship, and Mr. Randle played an20

WHEREAS, in 2011, Mr. Randle was named First-Team All-Southeastern1
Conference (Coaches) and Second-Team All-Southeastern Conference (AP); and2
WHEREAS, in the 2012 Draft of the National Football League, Mr. Randle was the3
thirty-first pick of the second round by the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the New York4
Giants, and the highest drafted LSU wide receiver since 2007; and5
WHEREAS, as he embarks upon his professional football career, Rueben Randle6
merits a special measure of commendation for his contributions to the LSU Tigers football7
team as a superb wide receiver and for the tremendous pride and honor he brings to the city8
of Bastrop and the state of Louisiana.9
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby10
commend Rueben Randle for his vital contributions to the Louisiana State University11
football team, does hereby recognize and record for posterity his singular gifts and talents,12
and does hereby extend to him best wishes for full measures of continued happiness and13
success in his future endeavors.14
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted15
to Rueben Randle.16
