HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 148
BY REPRESENTATIVE THOMPSON
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Vickey Thrash upon her retirement as principal of Benton High School after
nearly three decades of service with the Bossier Parish School System and to
recognize and record her myriad accomplishments and contributions.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Vickey Thrash for a long and
distinguished career in education; and
WHEREAS, for twenty-eight years, Mrs. Thrash has been serving with great
dedication and effectiveness as an educator with the Bossier Parish School System; and
WHEREAS, during her exceptional career with the school system, Mrs. Thrash has
served in a variety of vital positions, including three years as principal at Benton High
School, which followed seven years as the school's assistant principal, and eighteen years
as a teacher at Airline High School, where she taught English and social studies; and
WHEREAS, while teaching at Airline High School, Mrs. Thrash earned a master's
degree at Louisiana Tech University; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Thrash is widely respected and admired for not only her excellence
as an educator but for her unwavering generosity, kindness, compassion, and ability to
inspire young people to follow their dreams; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Thrash has earned the enduring appreciation of many for the
extraordinary ways in which she has devoted her energy and talents to the full development
of students into informed, capable, and productive citizens of their community and the
world; and
WHEREAS, Vickey Thrash merits a special measure of commendation for her
outstanding accomplishments in education and for the pride and honor she brings to the
countless students whose lives she has touched, to Benton and Airline high schools, to
Bossier Parish, and to the state of Louisiana. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 148

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Vickey Thrash upon her retirement as principal of Benton High School after
nearly three decades of dedicated and highly productive service with the Bossier Parish
School System, does hereby recognize and record her notable achievements and manifold
contributions to the school system and to her students, colleagues, family, friends, and
community, and does hereby extend to this wonderful educator best wishes as she embarks
upon new challenges and endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Vickey Thrash.
