COMMENDATIONS:  Commends the Calvary Baptist Academy baseball team upon
winning the Class 2A state championship
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the Calvary Baptist Academy baseball team upon winning the 2012 Class 2A2
state championship.3
WHEREAS, the Cavaliers of the Calvary Baptist Academy baseball team completed4
a sensational season when they earned the title of 2012 Class 2A state champions after5
defeating the Riverside Academy Rebels by a score of three to one at the thrilling6
championship game on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at J.C. Love Field at Louisiana Tech7
University; and 8
WHEREAS, the historic and memorable victory marked the third state championship9
for the Cavaliers under head coach Rodney Traweek and the culmination of an unforgettable10
season; and 11
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence12
throughout the 2012 season and playoffs, and each of these great Cavaliers deserves13
recognition for his vital contributions to the winning effort; and 14
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved15
without the guidance and skills of Coach Traweek as well as all of the other individuals who16
have contributed to the success of the school's baseball program; and17
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2012 season upholds the glorious tradition of the18
Cavaliers, and all Calvary alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished19

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby1
commend the Calvary Baptist Academy baseball team upon winning the 2012 Class 2A state2
championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone3
involved with this fine baseball program as they celebrate their exceptional season and4
prepare for continued success in the future.5
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted6
to head coach Rodney Traweek.7
