Stock of Alexandria A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of David V. Stock of2 Alexandria.3 WHEREAS, it was with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the4 Legislature of Louisiana learned of the death of David V. Stock on Monday, January 2,5 2012, at the age of fifty-six; and6 WHEREAS, together with his wife, Glenda, Mr. Stock was the longtime owner and7 operator of the five McDonald's restaurants in Alexandria, Louisiana, and he was a very8 active and widely respected and admired member of the central Louisiana community; and9 WHEREAS, Mr. Stock served with great dedication and effectiveness on the10 advisory board for People's State Bank and the board of the Boy Scouts of America, as the11 co-op representative for the McDonald's Regional Leadership Council, as the advisory board12 vice chairman for Martin-Brower Company, as the advisory board vice chairman for Mid13 South Baking Company, and as a member of Improv Chefs of Alexandria; and 14 WHEREAS, preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Stock and Nylene Gibson Stock,15 Mr. Stock is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-eight years, Glenda Wilburn Stock, and16 his brother, Kenneth Stock; and17 WHEREAS, Mr. Stock is sorely missed and left an indelible mark on the minds and18 hearts of the many citizens whose lives he touched; and19 HLS 12RS-207 ORIGINAL HCR NO. 18 Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, the death of Mr. Stock has left a tremendous void in his community and1 has created a genuine sense of sorrow in the many individuals who mourn the loss of this2 wonderful gentleman whose memory shall forever remain alive in their minds and hearts.3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby4 express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of David V. Stock of Alexandria5 and does hereby recognize and record for posterity his singular and momentous contributions6 and achievements, which will long continue to be a source of deep pride and honor for his7 family, friends, community, and state.8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted9 to the family of David V.
