HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 18
BY REPRESENTATIVES HARRIS AND DIXON
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of David V. Stock of
Alexandria.
WHEREAS, it was with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Legislature of Louisiana learned of the death of David V. Stock on Monday, January 2,
2012, at the age of fifty-six; and
WHEREAS, together with his wife, Glenda, Mr. Stock was the longtime owner and
operator of the five McDonald's restaurants in Alexandria, Louisiana, and he was a very
active and widely respected and admired member of the central Louisiana community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stock served with great dedication and effectiveness on the
advisory board for People's State Bank and the board of the Boy Scouts of America, as the
co-op representative for the McDonald's Regional Leadership Council, as the advisory board
vice chairman for Martin-Brower Company, as the advisory board vice chairman for Mid
South Baking Company, and as a member of Improv Chefs of Alexandria; and 
WHEREAS, preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Stock and Nylene Gibson Stock,
Mr. Stock is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-eight years, Glenda Wilburn Stock, and
his brother, Kenneth Stock; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Stock is sorely missed and left an indelible mark on the minds and
hearts of the many citizens whose lives he touched; and
WHEREAS, the death of Mr. Stock has left a tremendous void in his community and
has created a genuine sense of sorrow in the many individuals who mourn the loss of this
wonderful gentleman whose memory shall forever remain alive in their minds and hearts. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 18

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of David V. Stock of Alexandria
and does hereby recognize and record for posterity his singular and momentous contributions
and achievements, which will long continue to be a source of deep pride and honor for his
family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of David V. Stock.
