HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 62
BY REPRESENTATIVES CHAMPAGNE AND HENSGENS
COMMENDATIONS: Commends the administration, faculty, staff, students, and families
of Erath High School
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Erath High School upon receiving a letter grade of A+ and an excellent school2
performance score.3
WHEREAS, Erath High School is a ninth through twelfth grade high school in4
Vermilion Parish that has served teenagers of the parish since the 1920s; and 5
WHEREAS, Louisiana's nationally renowned School Accountability System calls6
for continuous improvement in student achievement, attendance, and dropout rates; and7
WHEREAS, for the 2010-2011 school year, Erath High School received a letter8
grade of A+ and a school performance score of 140.8, which was a substantial improvement9
on its scores since 2007, which previously ranged from 101.1 to 120; and10
WHEREAS, Erath High School serves as a fine example of the excellence that is11
possible in Louisiana public schools; and12
WHEREAS, the administration, students, faculty, staff, and families of Erath High13
School deserve recognition and acclaim for their truly amazing accomplishments; and14
WHEREAS, Erath High School owes much of its success to principal Francis15
Touchet, a dedicated educator and administrator whose talents and contributions will16
undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the future of Vermilion Parish and the state of17
Louisiana; and18
WHEREAS, Erath High School merits a special measure of commendation for its19

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby1
commend Erath High School upon its exceptional letter grade of A+ and its excellent school2
performance score, does hereby recognize and record for posterity the outstanding3
accomplishments and manifold contributions of its administration, faculty, staff, students,4
and families, and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the tremendous honor and5
pride that this wonderful school brings to its community, the town of Erath, the parish of6
Vermilion, and the state of Louisiana.7
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted8
to Francis Touchet, principal of Erath High School.9
