COMMENDATIONS: Commends Samantha Hilburn of Caddo Middle Magnet School
upon being named the Caddo Public Schools 2012 Middle School Student of the
Year
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Samantha Hilburn upon being named the Caddo Public Schools 2012 Middle2
School Student of the Year and to recognize her extraordinary accomplishments.3
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the Legislature of Louisiana recognizes the4
energy, intelligence, and self-motivation of Samantha Hilburn, a true leader and role model5
among her peers; and6
WHEREAS, Ms. Hilburn's dedication to academic achievement and drive to do her7
best at all times are evident in her unblemished academic record; she is a straight-A student;8
and9
WHEREAS, in addition to her academic success, Ms. Hilburn is also deeply10
committed to numerous activities and organizations designed to further the institutional11
success of her school and community, including Student Council, National Junior Honor12
Society, and her school's Builder's Club, of which she serves as president; and13
WHEREAS, Ms. Hilburn is distinguished by more than just her studies and service;14
she runs cross-country for Caddo Middle Magnet School and is the current IronFish Kids15
Triathlon champion for her age division; and16
WHEREAS, Ms. Hilburn has also found time to become an accomplished pianist and17
has been invited to perform at numerous events; and18
WHEREAS, Samantha Hilburn, the daughter of Jennifer and Cary Hilburn and sister19
of fellow academic standouts, Olivia and Georgia Hilburn, is a talented Louisiana student20 HLS 12RS-1466 ORIGINAL

who demonstrates impeccable leadership and a commitment to excellence that is truly1
commendable, without a doubt meriting receipt of the Caddo Public Schools 2012 Middle2
School Student of the Year award.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby4
commend Samantha Hilburn upon being named the Caddo Public Schools 2012 Middle5
School Student of the Year, does hereby wish Ms. Hilburn full measures of success and6
happiness in the years to come, and does hereby hope that she continues upon her current7
trajectory so that a future resolution may be written to commend her for the honor that she8
will undoubtedly continue to bestow upon the state of Louisiana.9
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted10
to Samantha Hilburn of Caddo Parish.11
