HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 73
BY REPRESENTATIVE SEABAUGH AND SENATOR PEACOCK
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Samantha Hilburn upon being named the Caddo Public Schools 2012 Middle
School Student of the Year and to recognize her extraordinary accomplishments.
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the Legislature of Louisiana recognizes the
energy, intelligence, and self-motivation of Samantha Hilburn, a true leader and role model
among her peers; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hilburn's dedication to academic achievement and drive to do her
best at all times are evident in her unblemished academic record; she is a straight-A student;
and
WHEREAS, in addition to her academic success, Ms. Hilburn is also deeply
committed to numerous activities and organizations designed to further the institutional
success of her school and community, including Student Council, National Junior Honor
Society, and her school's Builder's Club, of which she serves as president; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hilburn is distinguished by more than just her studies and service;
she runs cross-country for Caddo Middle Magnet School and is the current IronFish Kids
Triathlon champion for her age division; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hilburn has also found time to become an accomplished pianist and
has been invited to perform at numerous events; and
WHEREAS, Samantha Hilburn, the daughter of Jennifer and Cary Hilburn and sister
of fellow academic standouts, Olivia and Georgia Hilburn, is a talented Louisiana student
who demonstrates impeccable leadership and a commitment to excellence that is truly
commendable, without a doubt meriting receipt of the Caddo Public Schools 2012 Middle
School Student of the Year award.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Samantha Hilburn upon being named the Caddo Public Schools 2012 Middle ENROLLEDHCR NO. 73

School Student of the Year, does hereby wish Ms. Hilburn full measures of success and
happiness in the years to come, and does hereby hope that she continues upon her current
trajectory so that a future resolution may be written to commend her for the honor that she
will undoubtedly continue to bestow upon the state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Samantha Hilburn of Caddo Parish.
