COMMENDATIONS: Commends Cameron Windham of Jena upon his receipt of a 2012
Prudential Spirit of Community Award for volunteer services
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Cameron Windham of Jena upon his receipt of a 2012 Prudential Spirit of2
Community Award.3
WHEREAS, Cameron Windham, an esteemed resident of Jena and a senior at Jena4
High School, has achieved national recognition for exemplary volunteer service by receiving5
a 2012 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and6
WHEREAS, as a Distinguished Finalist, Cameron Windham will receive an engraved7
bronze medallion at a local ceremony; and8
WHEREAS, the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, created in 1995 by9
Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School10
Principals, honors young volunteers across the United States who have demonstrated11
extraordinary commitment to serving their communities; and12
WHEREAS, the town of Jena and the state of Louisiana benefit from the efforts of13
Cameron Windham to enhance and improve the conditions of those around him through his14
many selfless acts; and15
WHEREAS, Mr. Windham, as president of his school's Future Business Leaders of16
America club, has quintupled membership, promoted members' routine volunteerism at17
community events, and developed a yearly "Most Beautiful Pageant" fund-raiser that has18

WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities,1
and the overall vitality of American society depend upon the dedication of young people like2
Cameron Windham who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby4
commend and congratulate Cameron Windham as the recipient of a 2012 Prudential Spirit5
of Community Award and recognizes his outstanding record of volunteer service, peer6
leadership, and community spirit. 7
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted8
to Cameron Windham.9
