A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Cameron Windham of Jena upon his receipt of a 2012 Prudential Spirit of
Community Award.
WHEREAS, Cameron Windham, an esteemed resident of Jena and a senior at Jena
High School, has achieved national recognition for exemplary volunteer service by receiving
a 2012 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and
WHEREAS, as a Distinguished Finalist, Cameron Windham will receive an engraved
bronze medallion at a local ceremony; and
WHEREAS, the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, created in 1995 by
Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School
Principals, honors young volunteers across the United States who have demonstrated
extraordinary commitment to serving their communities; and
WHEREAS, the town of Jena and the state of Louisiana benefit from the efforts of
Cameron Windham to enhance and improve the conditions of those around him through his
many selfless acts; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Windham, as president of his school's Future Business Leaders of
America club, has quintupled membership, promoted members' routine volunteerism at
community events, and developed a yearly "Most Beautiful Pageant" fund-raiser that has
become a beloved school activity; and
WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities,
and the overall vitality of American society depend upon the dedication of young people like
Cameron Windham who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate Cameron Windham as the recipient of a 2012 Prudential Spirit
of Community Award and recognizes his outstanding record of volunteer service, peer
leadership, and community spirit. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 9

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Cameron Windham.
