COMMENDATIONS: Commends the St. Charles Catholic High School football team upon
winning the 2011 Class 3A state championship
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the St. Charles Catholic High School football team upon winning the 20112
Class 3A state championship.3
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Catholic High School football team completed a4
sensational and unforgettable season, earning the title of 2011 Class 3A state champions5
after defeating Amite High School by a score of 9-8 to win the state championship game at6
the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Saturday, December 10, 2011; and 7
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Catholic High School football team finished the thrilling8
and historic 2011 season with an undefeated record of 15-0; and9
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence10
throughout the 2011 season and playoffs, and each of these great Comets deserves11
recognition for his vital contributions to the winning effort: Austin Weber, Brandon12
Hubbard, Marcus Hall, Jordan Favorite, Jeffrey Hall, Ross Authement, Donnie Savoie,13
Connor Western, Dane Authement, Macky Cortez, Chad McNeil, Jemal Baptiste, Felix14

WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved10
without the guidance and skills of head coach Frank Monica, assistant coaches Paul11
Waguespack, Ty Monica, Wayne Stein, Tom Buisson, Chris Perrone, Mike Pecoraro, Jerry12
Schexnayder, Millard Roberson, and Alex Vicknair, as well as all of the other individuals13
who have contributed to the success of the school's football program; and 14
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2011 season upholds the glorious tradition of the15
Comets and all St. Charles Catholic High School alumni and fans recognize the immense16
pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.17
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the18
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the St. Charles Catholic High School19
football team upon winning the 2011 Class 3A state championship and does hereby extend20
best wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine football program21
as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.22
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted23
to Frank Monica, head coach of the St. Charles Catholic High School football team.24
