HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 126

COMMENDATIONS: Commends the members of the Litteral family upon their receipt of
the La. Volunteers for Family and Community Great La. Family Award
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the members of the Litteral family of Jefferson Davis Parish upon their receipt2
of the Louisiana Volunteers for Family and Community Great Louisiana Family3
Award.4
WHEREAS, the Litteral family merits heartfelt recognition and commendation for5
their highly significant contributions as an extraordinary Louisiana family upon receiving6
the Louisiana Volunteers for Family and Community Great Louisiana Family Award, which7
is given each year to an outstanding family who has contributed to the quality of Louisiana8
life through community service; and9
WHEREAS, the Litteral family of Jefferson Davis Parish is comprised of Charles10
and Barbara Litteral; their three daughters, Cindy Doise and husband Luke, Glenda Granger11
and husband Randy, and Karen Landry and husband Mark; and seven grandchildren,12
Brittany, Allie, and Caroline Doise, Taylor and Paige Granger, and Megan and Sara Landry;13
and14
WHEREAS, Barbara Litteral has served as an elementary school teacher in Jefferson15
Davis Parish for more than forty years, as a 4-H leader for more than thirty years, and as an16
active member of the Jefferson Davis Farm Bureau and Raymond United Methodist Church;17
and18
WHEREAS, Charles Litteral worked as a dedicated farmer and cattleman in19
Jefferson Davis Parish, participated in the 4-H livestock program, serves as an active20
member of the Farm Bureau and Raymond United Methodist Church, and participates in21 HLS 12RS-4734 ORIGINAL

state livestock shows by standardizing weight scales and transporting his children and1
grandchildrens' show animals; and 2
WHEREAS, the widely respected and admired Litteral family is an inspiration to all3
whose lives they have touched and represent all that is good about Louisiana.4
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the5
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Litteral Family of Jefferson Davis Parish6
for their outstanding accomplishments and upon receipt of the Louisiana Volunteers for7
Family and Community Great Louisiana Family Award and does hereby express enduring8
appreciation to them for the tremendous pride, honor, and joy that they bring to their family,9
friends, and community, Jefferson Davis Parish, the state of Louisiana, and the United States10
of America.11
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted12
to Charles and Barbara Litteral.13
