HIGHWAYS: Urges and requests DOTD to decrease a speed limit in Thibodaux
A RESOLUTION1
To urge and request the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to2
reduce the speed limit on Louisiana Highway 308 in Lafourche Parish to forty miles3
per hour from the Audubon Street Bridge traveling westwardly to the intersection4
of Louisiana Highway 308 and Rosedown Drive.5
WHEREAS, increased traffic volumes throughout the city of Thibodaux have led6
to motor vehicles taking alternate routes such as Louisiana Highway 308 to reach their7
destinations in the city; and8
WHEREAS, the increased traffic volumes on Louisiana Highway 308 have led to9
speeding on this two-lane highway through the city of Thibodaux; and10
WHEREAS, the speed limit at the eastern city limit of Thibodaux is currently fifty11
miles per hour, with its first decreased speed zone well into the city limits at Rosedown12
Drive.13
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the14
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Department of Transportation and15
Development to reduce the speed limit on Louisiana Highway 308 in Lafourche Parish to16
forty miles per hour from the Audubon Street Bridge traveling westwardly to the17
intersection of Louisiana Highway 308 and Rosedown Drive.18
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of the Resolution be transmitted19
