ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 144 BY REPRESENTATIVE HOFFMANN A RESOLUTION To commend Robert Williamson upon his induction into the Louisiana Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame. WHEREAS, Robert Williamson's more than thirty years of service as an extraordinary athletic trainer in the state of Louisiana will be rewarded when he is inducted into the Louisiana Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame on June 8, 2012, at the Hilton Garden Inn in West Monroe; and WHEREAS, Mr. Williamson is a graduate of Pineville High School and Northeast Louisiana University, now the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), where he earned a bachelor of science degree in health and physical education in 1981 and a master of education degree in 1983; and WHEREAS, Mr. Williamson began his career at ULM in 1977 as a student trainer and later advanced to the position of graduate assistant before becoming the full-time assistant trainer in 1983; and WHEREAS, Mr. Williamson served as a part-time member of the ULM faculty in the department of kinesiology before giving up his athletic trainer duties in 2008 to become a full-time faculty member; and WHEREAS, in addition to serving as a full-time faculty member, Mr. Williamson also serves as director of the ULM Child Development Center and executive director of the ULM L-Club; and WHEREAS, among Robert Williamson's accolades is his Charlie Martin Athletic Training Service Award from the Louisiana Athletic Trainers' Association; and WHEREAS, Mr. Williamson merits a place in the Louisiana Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame because of his continuous and tireless dedication to the athletic training profession in the state of Louisiana, for his commitment to ULM and the community ENROLLEDHR NO. 144 Page 2 of 2 it serves, and for providing athletic training health care to the student-athletes at ULM for more than thirty years; and WHEREAS, Mr. Williamson's induction this summer will bring the number of ULM trainers in the Louisiana Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame to three; he joins Charlie Martin and Rickey Mestayer, under both of whom Mr. Williamson served during their years at ULM; and WHEREAS, Robert Williamson merits a sincere measure of commendation for his outstanding achievements and singular contributions as an educator, athletic trainer, and citizen in the state of Louisiana. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Robert Williamson upon being inducted in to the Louisiana Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame, does hereby recognize and record for posterity his exceptional career at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and honor that he brings to his family, friends, and community, the city of Monroe, and the state of Louisiana.
