COMMENDATIONS: Commends Gabrielle "Gabby" Palma of Mandeville, the 2012 La.
Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Gabrielle "Gabby" Palma of Mandeville, the 2012 Louisiana Association of2
Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens.3
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Gabby Palma of Mandeville, the 20124
Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens, upon her outstanding5
accomplishments; and6
WHEREAS, Ms. Palma is a 2009 graduate of Mandeville High School and is7
currently a junior at Southeastern Louisiana University, where she is studying mass8
communications with a concentration in electronic media in preparation for graduate studies9
and a career in broadcast journalism; and10
WHEREAS, Ms. Palma is a member of Gamma Beta Phi, the National Collegiate11
Honor Society, and Best Buddies; and12
WHEREAS, in addition to her significant academic achievements, Ms. Palma has13
held a number of prestigious titles, including her reigns as Miss City of Pineville 2010, Miss14
Southeastern Louisiana State University 2011, and Miss St. Tammany Parish Fair 2011; and15
WHEREAS, on February 4, 2012, Ms. Palma was crowned the Louisiana Association16
of Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens; and17
WHEREAS, as queen, Ms. Palma plans to bring awareness to the importance of18
tourism and work with Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne to promote Louisiana's tourism19
slogan, "Pick Your Passion", in addition to visiting festivals and fairs throughout the state20

WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities,1
and the overall vitality of American society depend upon the dedication and talents of young2
people like Ms. Palma; and3
WHEREAS, Ms. Palma merits a special measure of commendation for the pride and4
honor she brings to her family and friends, to the city of Mandeville, to St. Tammany Parish,5
and to the state of Louisiana.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the7
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Gabrielle "Gabby" Palma of Mandeville, the8
2012 Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens, does hereby recognize9
and record for posterity her achievements and contributions, and does hereby extend to her10
best wishes for continued success and happiness in her future endeavors.11
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted12
to Gabby Palma.13
