ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 67 BY REPRESENTATIVE RICHARDSON A RESOLUTION To commend Chase T. Cashio for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend and celebrate the accomplishments of Chase T. Cashio, who has attained the rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, the son of Casey and Christy Cashio, Chase Cashio is currently a junior at Central High School in Central, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Mr. Cashio is active in sports at Central High School, is a member of the National Beta Club, and has been named to the academic Honor Roll; and WHEREAS, Mr. Cashio was honored for his achievements and attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout at his Eagle Scout Court of Honor on October 30, 2011; and WHEREAS, in pursuit of the rank of Eagle Scout, Mr. Cashio refurbished the Central Football Stadium bathrooms and attended Camp Sid Richardson in Texas, where he completed the Sailing, Computers, and Oceanography merit badges; and WHEREAS, the mission of the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by the United States Congress in 1916, is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law; and WHEREAS, to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting, a Boy Scout must fulfill all requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills, and the Eagle Scout must earn twenty-one merit badges, which signify the mastery of Scoutcraft skills, including citizenship in the community, nation, and world; and WHEREAS, only a small percentage of Boy Scouts earn the Eagle Scout rank, illustrating that it takes a unique and motivated young man like Mr. Cashio to strive to embody the ideals of an Eagle Scout; and ENROLLEDHR NO. 67 Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, upon being presented with his Eagle Scout badge, Chase T. Cashio joined the ranks of esteemed and respected Eagle Scouts throughout history; and WHEREAS, the legacy of the Boy Scouts of America is rich indeed, including not only a history of service and proud citizenship but also the momentous and singular accomplishments of Chase T. Cashio, who is recognized and commended for his deep human values, the genuine spirit of good fellowship that he inspires, and his service as a fine example of hard work and integrity in the eyes of future Eagle Scouts and his entire community. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and honor Chase T. Cashio upon attaining the rank of Eagle Scout because he walks an honorable path along the Eagle Scout trail, does hereby express utmost gratitude and respect for the exemplary strides he has taken as a Scout and citizen, does hereby congratulate Mr. Cashio and his troop for commemorating this most significant and unforgettable event when he pledged his eternal loyalty to the code of the Eagle Scout, and does hereby wish him full measures of success and happiness in the years to come.
