SPECIAL DAY/WEEK/MONTH: Recognizes May 13-19, 2012, as National Women's
Health Week
A RESOLUTION1
To recognize May 13 through May 19, 2012, as National Women's Health Week. 2
WHEREAS, National Women's Health Week was initiated in the dawn of the new3
millennium by a group of public and private organizations dedicated to raising awareness4
of women's health issues; and5
WHEREAS, from that day forward, National Women's Health Week has occurred6
in the spring with an annual celebration held the week following Mother's Day; and7
WHEREAS, National Women's Health Week is a celebration of women taking8
responsibility for their own health through greater knowledge and understanding; and9
WHEREAS, National Women's Health Week celebrates the efforts of national and10
community organizations working with partners and volunteers to improve awareness of key11
women's health issues.12
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the13
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize the week following Mother's Day, Sunday,14
