COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Hornbeck High School baseball team upon winning
the Class B state championship
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Hornbeck High School baseball team upon winning the 2012 Class B state2
championship.3
WHEREAS, the Hornbeck High School baseball team completed a sensational4
season when they earned the title of 2012 Class B state champions after defeating the Forest5
High School Bulldogs by a score of seven to six at the thrilling championship game on6
Saturday, May 12, 2012, at McMurry Park in Sulphur; and 7
WHEREAS, the historic and memorable victory marked the first state championship8
for the Hornets and the culmination of an unforgettable season; and 9
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence10
throughout the 2012 season and playoffs, and each of these great Hornets deserves11
recognition for his vital contributions to the winning effort; and 12
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved13
without the guidance and skills of head coach Dustin Smith as well as all of the other14
individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's baseball program; and15
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2012 season upholds the glorious tradition of the16
Hornets, and all Hornbeck alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished17
honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state. 18
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the19
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Hornbeck High School baseball team20
upon winning the 2012 Class B state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to21 HLS 12RS-4231 ORIGINAL

the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine baseball program as they celebrate1
their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.2
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted3
to head coach Dustin Smith.4
