AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 24:31.4(E), relative to legislators; to authorize and provide for surplus space2
in state-owned property to be utilized as offices for legislators; to provide for a3
procedure for requesting such space; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 24:31.4(E) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6

E. The commissioner of administration shall promulgate and implement9
a procedure whereby, at no cost to a legislator, surplus space in immovable10
property owned by the state and located within a parish represented in whole11
or in part by a legislator may be utilized as the legislator's office.  The12
commissioner of administration shall promulgate such procedure by rule in13
accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, and proposed rules relative14
to such procedure shall be subject to the approval of the House and15
Governmental Affairs Committee and the Senate and Governmental Affairs16
Committee. A legislator seeking to utilize such surplus space as his office shall17
make a written request for such space to the commissioner. Priority for such18
space shall be given to legislators in the order in which the requests are19
received.
