Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 116 BY SENATOR MILLS AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 28:912(B)(2) and to enact R.S. 28:912(B)(1)(g) and 915(B)(8),2 relative to human services districts; to provide with respect to the naming of Region3 4; to provide the authority for the naming of human services districts; and to provide4 for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 28:912(B)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.7 28:912(B)(1)(g) and 915(B)(8) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 §912. Creation and jurisdiction9 * * *10 B. The human services districts shall be:11 (1) The following statutory entities:12 * * *13 (g) Acadiana Area Human Services District.14 (2) The following districts created by this Chapter organized by region:15 (a) Region 4 which shall consist of the parishes of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia,16 Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, and Vermilion.17 (b) (a) Region 5, or any name formally adopted by the district's board,18 which shall consist of the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and19 Jefferson Davis.20 (c) (b) Region 6, or any name formally adopted by the district's board,21 which shall consist of the parishes of Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant,22 LaSalle, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn.23 SB NO. 116 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 Coding: Words which are struck through are deletions from existing law; words in boldface type and underscored are additions. (d) (c) Region 7, or any name formally adopted by the district's board,1 which shall consist of the parishes of Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto,2 Natchitoches, Sabine, Red River, and Webster.3 * * *4 §915. Districts; functions, powers, and duties5 * * *6 B. In addition to the functions as provided in Subsection A of this Section,7 the district shall have the following powers and duties:8 * * *9 (8) To name the district.10 * * *11 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not12 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature13 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
