AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 1:58.5, relative to special days; to designate three days in October as "Care2
Enough to Wear Pink" in Louisiana to recognize and honor those individuals who3
have been diagnosed with breast cancer; to provide that these dates shall be observed4
annually by the state; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 1:58.5 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง58.5.   Care Enough to Wear Pink8
A. October has long been recognized as National Breast Cancer9
Awareness Month in the United States, and the wearing of the color pink in the10
form of ribbons and apparel has been associated with the breast cancer11
awareness campaign.  It is an annual health campaign organized by major12
breast cancer charities to increase awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds13
for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure.14
B. In honor of those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer,15
October twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, and twenty-seventh are hereby designated16
annually as "Care Enough to Wear Pink" days throughout the state of17 SB NO. 123
