Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 135 BY SENATORS MORRELL AND MURRAY AND REPRESENTATI VE LEGER AN ACT1 To enact Part I-B of Chapter 5 of Title 18 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to be2 comprised of R.S. 18:418.1 and 418.2 and to repeal Part I-B of Chapter 5 of Title 183 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, comprised of R.S. 18:418.1 and 418.2,4 effective June 1, 2014, relative to the election code; to provide for certain municipal5 and parochial elections; to provide for dates for elections to be held in 2014; and to6 provide for related matters.7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8 Section 1. Part I-B of Chapter 5 of Title 18 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of9 1950, to be comprised of R.S. 18:418.1 and 418.2, are hereby enacted to read as follows: 10 PART I-B. SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR CERTAIN ELECTIONS HELD IN 201411 §418.1. Applicability of Part12 Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the13 provisions contained in this Part shall be applicable in 2014 to the general14 elections for parochial and municipal officers, special general elections and15 proposition or question elections held in a parish containing a municipality with16 a population of three hundred thousand or more.17 §418.2.
