VIDEO POKER. Provides relative to legislative oversight of certain video draw poker
games.  (8/1/12)
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 27:302(A)(5), relative to video draw poker; to provide with2
respect to legislative oversight of games of video draw poker and other such card3
games; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 27:302(A)(5) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6
ยง302. Description and specifications of devices7
A. Each video draw poker device shall:8

(5) Offer the game of draw poker or such other card games as are approved10
by the division and the House Committee on the Administration of Criminal11
Justice and the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Section B and have the12
following method of operation:13

DIGEST
Present law provides a description and specifications of devices which may be used for video
poker.  Present law requires each video poker device to offer the game of draw poker or such
other card games as are approved by Louisiana State Police.
Proposed law retains present law and further requires legislative oversight of other card
games that are offered for play.
Effective August 1, 2012.
