VIDEO POKER. Provides relative to legislative oversight of certain video draw poker

AN ACT1
To amend and reenact the introductory paragraph of R.S. 27:302(A)(5), relative to video2
draw poker; to provide with respect to legislative oversight of games of video draw3
poker and other such card games; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. The introductory paragraph of R.S. 27:302(A)(5) is hereby amended and6
reenacted to read as follows: 7
ยง302. Description and specifications of devices8
A. Each video draw poker device shall:9

(5) Offer the game of draw poker or such other card games as are approved11
by the division, the House Committee on the Administration of Criminal Justice,12
and the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Section B and have the following13
method of operation:14

Section 2. In the event of a conflict between the provisions of this Act and the16
provisions of the Act which originated as Senate Bill No. 575 of the 2012 Regular Session,17 SB NO. 198

the provisions of this Act shall prevail.1

Morrell (SB 198)
Present law provides a description and specifications of devices which may be used for video
poker.  Present law requires each video poker device to offer the game of draw poker or such
other card games as are approved by Louisiana State Police.
Proposed law retains present law and further requires legislative oversight of other card
games that are offered for play.
Provides that in the event of a conflict between the provisions contained in this instrument
and the provisions contained in SB 575 of the 2012 Regular Session (specifically proposed
law R.S. 27:405(A)(5)), the provisions of this instrument shall prevail.
Effective August 1, 2012.
