(8/1/12) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 30:2351.51(E), relative to environmental quality; to require all state and local2 agencies engaged in lead hazard reduction activities to publish on-line, minimum3 lead standards allowable; to require minimum lead standards to conform with4 standards established by the federal government; and to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 30:2351.51(E) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง2351.51. Public education8 * * *9 E. All state and local agencies engaged in lead hazard reduction10 activities shall publish on their Internet website, minimum lead standards11 allowable. DIGEST Present law requires the secretary, in connection with other state agencies, to conduct a program of public education on lead hazards. Present law requires the secretary to gather and make available technical information on proper lead control methods, standards on lead hazard reduction activities to property owners, contractors, supervisors and workers. Proposed law requires all state and local agencies engaged in lead hazard reduction activities to publish on their Internet website minimum lead standards allowable and that such standards must match minimum lead levels and that those levels follow federal requirements.
