FEES/LICENSES/PERMITS. Authorizes proof of lifetime hunting, sports fishing, and
combination lifetime hunting and sports fishing licenses on drivers license. (8/1/12)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 32:410(A)(6), (7), and (8), relative to the form and information on a driver's2
license; to provide an option for the licensee of a lifetime hunting license, a lifetime3
sports fishing license, or combination lifetime hunting and sports fishing license to4
include such hunting, sports fishing, or combination hunting and sports fishing5
license number on his Louisiana driver's license; and to provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. R.S. 32:410(A)(6), (7), and (8) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 8
ยง410. Form of license; photograph, signature of licensee, anatomical gift statement,9
declaration of life-sustaining procedures, and additional information10

(6) Beginning January 1, 2013, the office of motor vehicles of the13
Department of Public Safety and Corrections shall provide a method to include14
the lifetime hunting license number issued to a Louisiana resident pursuant to15
R.S. 56:649.1 on such licensee's application for a driver's license and the license16
issued as a result of such application. Inclusion of the lifetime hunting license17 SB NO. 224

number on the licensee's driver's license shall be solely at the option of such1
licensee. If such licensee opts to include his lifetime hunting license number on2
his driver's license, possession of such driver's license shall satisfy the3
requirements of R.S. 56:649.5(B) to possess and exhibit such lifetime hunting4
license.5
(7) Beginning January 1, 2013, the office of motor vehicles of the6
Department of Public Safety and Corrections shall provide a method to include7
the lifetime sports fishing license number issued to a Louisiana resident8
pursuant to R.S. 56:649.2 on such licensee's application for a driver's license9
and the license issued as a result of such application. Inclusion of the lifetime10
sports fishing license number on the licensee's driver's license shall be solely at11
the option of such licensee. If such licensee opts to include his lifetime sports12
fishing license number on his driver's license, possession of such driver's license13
shall satisfy the requirements of R.S. 56:649.5(B) to possess and exhibit such14
lifetime sports fishing license.15

licensee's driver's license shall be solely at the option of such licensee. If such22
licensee opts to include his combination lifetime hunting and sports fishing23
license number on his driver's license, possession of such driver's license shall24
satisfy the requirements of R.S. 56:649.5(B) to possess and exhibit such25
combination lifetime hunting and sports fishing license.26

Proposed law provides that beginning January 1, 2013, the office of motor vehicles of the
DPSC shall provide a method to include the lifetime hunting license number issued pursuant
to R.S. 56:649.1, the lifetime sports fishing license number issued pursuant to R.S. 56:649.2,
or the combination lifetime hunting and sports fishing license number issued pursuant to
R.S. 56:649.3 on such licensee's application for a driver's license and the license issued as
a result of such application.
Proposed law provides sole option to the licensee of a lifetime hunting license, a lifetime
sports fishing license, or combination lifetime hunting and sports fishing license to include
such license number on his driver's license.
Proposed law provides that a driver's license which includes a lifetime hunting license
number, a lifetime sports fishing license number, or combination lifetime hunting and sports
fishing license number satisfies the requirements of R.S. 56:649.5 to possess and exhibit
such license.
Effective August 1, 2012.
