COASTAL RESOURCES. Authorizes the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority to
assist the Teche-Vermilion Fresh Water District. (8/1/12)
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 38:3086.6, relative to the Teche-Vermilion Fresh Water District;2
to authorize the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority to provide engineering3
assistance and services to the district; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 38:3086.6 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6
ยง3086.6. Engineering services by 	department of public works Coastal Protection7
and Restoration Authority8
The state department of public works Coastal Protection and Restoration9
Authority is authorized and directed to provide such engineering assistance, advice10
and supervision and shall provide such reports, investigations, surveys, plans and11
specifications as the board of commissioners may require. It shall be the duty of said12
department of public works the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority to13
provide an appropriate representative to attend meetings of the board of14
commissioners when such attendance is requested by said board. 15 SB NO. 289

Present law authorizes and directs the office of public works in the DOTD to provide
engineering assistance, advice, and services to the Teche-Vermilion Fresh Water District.
Proposed law changes the state agency from office of public works to the Coastal Protection
and Restoration Authority.
Effective August 1, 2012.
