AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 15:542.1.2(A), relative to sex offender registration and2
notification laws; to provide for reporting changes of name, address, and other3
information by certain offenders required to register with law enforcement officials;4
and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 15:542.1.2(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7
ยง542.1.2. Duty of offenders to notify law enforcement of change of address,8
residence, or other registration information9
A. Those persons required to register pursuant to the provisions of this10
Chapter shall appear in person at the sheriff's office in the parish of residence, or the11
police department in the case of a municipality with a population in excess of three12
hundred thousand, where the offender is currently registered to update information13
within three business days of establishing a new or additional physical residential14
address or of changes in information previously provided when any of the following15
occur:16
(1) The offender changes his place of residence or establishes a new or17
additional residence; or.18
(2)  When the The offender has vacated his current address of registration19
with the intent not to return; or.20
(3)  When the The offender has been absent from his current address of21
registration for more than thirty consecutive days or an aggregate of thirty days or22
more per calendar year and is physically present at another address during that same23
time period; or.24

(4) The offender has a change in name, place of employment, or enrollment1
any information previously provided pursuant to R.S. 15:542(C).2
