AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 40:1429, relative to the insurance fraud investigation unit within2
the Department of Public Safety and Corrections; to extend the enforcement3
provisions of the unit to July 1, 2014; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 40:1429 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6
ยง1429. Effectiveness of Subpart7
This Subpart shall be null, void, and unenforceable on July 1, 2012 2014.8
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012.9 SB NO. 40

DIGEST
Present law provides that provisions concerning the authority and funding of the insurance
fraud investigation unit in the Department of Public Safety and Corrections will be null,
void, and unenforceable on July 1, 2012.
Proposed law extends these provisions until July 1, 2014.
Effective July 1, 2012.
