(8/1/12) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 32:127.2, relative to golf carts; to authorize operation of golf carts on2 roadways within Palmetto Island State Park; and to provide for related matters.3 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4 Section 1. R.S. 32:127.2 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 5 ยง127.2. Golf carts; Palmetto Island State Park6 A. Notwithstanding any law, rule, and regulation to the contrary, a golf7 cart may be operated between sunrise and sunset on the roadways within the8 boundaries of Palmetto Island State Park by any operator who is in possession9 of a valid driver's license and liability insurance.10 B. DIGEST Proposed law provides that golf carts may operate between sunrise and sunset on the roadways within the limits of Palmetto Island State Park by any operator who is in possession of a valid driver's license and liability insurance. Proposed law excepts the provisions of this Act from certain requirements contained in present law and provides that golf carts not be considered a vehicle for purposes of defining "equipment." Effective August 1, 2012. (Adds R.S. 32:127.2)
