(8/1/12) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 30:28(I), relative to drilling permits; to require the commissioner of2 conservation to provide thirty days notice to landowners affected by certain drilling3 operations; to provide terms, conditions, and requirements; and to provide for related4 matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 30:28(I) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง28. Drilling permits; issuance; fees; location plat; notice and hearing; funds from8 drilling permit fees9 * * *10 I. DIGEST Present law authorizes the commissioner of conservation to issue permits for drilling operations and provides certain rules, conditions, and requirements. Proposed law provides that any permit issued to drill an oil, gas, or test well must require the operator to notify any landowner affected by the well 30 days before the drilling operations commence, and must provide proof of such notification to the commissioner of conservation.
