Provides relative to special prestige license plate for Boy Scouts of America. (8/1/12) AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.71(C), relative to the special prestige license plate for the2 Boy Scouts of America; to provide for an annual royalty fee and for distribution of3 collections; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R. S. 47:463.71(C) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6 ยง463.71. Special prestige license plate; Boy Scouts of America7 * * *8 C. The charge for this special license plate shall be the standard motor9 vehicle license tax imposed by Article VII, Section 5 of the Constitution of10 Louisiana plus a one-time an annual royalty fee of twenty-five dollars for each11 plate, to be collected by the department every two years upon renewal of the12 plate. Present law requires the payment of a one-time fee of $25 for each plate in addition to the regular motor vehicle registration license fee. Proposed law requires the payment of an annual royalty fee of $25 in addition to the regular motor vehicle registration license tax. Proposed law requires distribution of royalty fees collected by the DPSC to the appropriate Louisiana council of the Boy Scouts of America as determined by the zip code of the purchaser's parish of origin.
