(8/1/12) AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:191.3(B), relative to motorcycles; to provide relative to2 handlebars on motorcycles; and to provide for related matters.3 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4 Section 1. R.S. 32:191.3(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 5 ยง191.3. Footrests and handlebars6 * * *7 B. No person shall operate any motorcycle with handlebars more than fifteen8 inches in height above the portion of the seat occupied by the operator which9 require the hands of the operator to be above the operator's shoulder height10 when the operator is sitting astride the seat and the operator's hands are on the11 handlebar grips. 12 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Sharon F. Lyles. DIGEST Present law provides that no person shall operate a motorcycle with handlebars more than 15 inches in height above the portion of the seat occupied by the operator.
