PUBLIC PROPERTY. Authorizes the Department of Health and Hospitals to transfer
certain state property in Lincoln Parish to Grambling State University. (8/1/12)
AN ACT1
To authorize the Department of Health and Hospitals to transfer certain state property in2
Lincoln Parish to Grambling State University; to provide for the property3
description; to provide for reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and4
conditions; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. The secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals,7
notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and8
empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease or deliver any interest, excluding mineral9
rights, the state may have to all or any portion of the following described parcel of10
property to Grambling State University: 11
A certain tract of land, including all improvements located thereon,12
situated and lying adjacent to Louisiana Technical University property and13
more particularly described as follows to wit:14
Thence a 163.39 acre tract of land with improvements situated in15
Sections 23 and 24, Township 18, North, Range 4 West, in Lincoln16
Parish, Louisiana and formerly known as Ruston State School.17 SB NO. 583

Section 2. The secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals is hereby1
authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and2
to execute such documents as necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance,3
transfer, assignment, lease, or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, to the property4
described in Section 1, and as more specifically described in any such agreements5
entered into and documents executed by and between the secretary of the Department6
of Health and Hospitals and Grambling State University, in exchange of consideration7
proportionate to at least the appraised value of the property.8
