AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 47:1923(D)(1), relative to tax assessors; to provide relative to2
the payment of certain insurance premiums for certain retired assessors and3
assessors' employees in the parishes of Caldwell and Lincoln; and to provide for4
related matters.5
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. R.S. 47:1923(D)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:8
ยง1923. Authority for assessors separately or jointly to contract for insurance;9
payment of premiums10

D.(1) In the parishes of Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles,12
Beauregard, Bienville, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Cameron, Catahoula, Claiborne,13
Concordia, DeSoto, East Baton Rouge, Franklin, Iberia, Iberville, Jackson, Jefferson,14
Lafayette, Lafourche, LaSalle, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches,15
Orleans, Ouachita, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, Red River, Sabine, St.16
Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin,17
Tangipahoa, Tensas, Terrebonne, Union, Vermilion, Vernon, Washington, Webster,18
West Baton Rouge, West Carroll, and West Feliciana, and any parish with a19
population of between ten thousand and eleven thousand according to the latest20
federal decennial census, the assessor shall pay the premium cost of group life,21
dental, group health, hospital, surgical, or other medical insurance for any assessor22
or assessor's employee who retires with at least twenty years of service who is at23

least fifty-five years of age or who retires with at least thirty years of service at any1
age. A uniform policy with respect to the payment of such premium shall be2
formulated and applied by the assessor of each parish listed in this Subsection.3
