BY SENATOR LONG 
CHIROPRACTORS.  Authorizes the Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners to adopt
rules to perform criminal background checks on any licensee or applicant. (8/1/12)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 37:2804(L), relative to chiropractors; to authorize the Louisiana Board of2
Chiropractic Examiners to promulgate rules; to provide for licensure of3
chiropractors; to provide for criminal background checks; and to provide for related4
matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 37:2804(L) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7

L. In addition to any other requirements established by regulation, the10
board may require an applicant, as a condition of licensure to:11
(1) Submit a full set of fingerprints, in a form and manner prescribed by12
the board.13
(2) Permit the board to request and obtain state and national criminal14

Present law provides for the regulation of chiropractors by the Louisiana Board of
Chiropractic Examiners ("board").
Proposed law authorizes the board to require an applicant, as condition of licensure to: 
1. Submit a full set of fingerprints, in a form and manner prescribed by the board.
2. Permit the board to request and obtain state and national criminal history record
information on the applicant.
Effective August 1, 2012.
