Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 84 BY SENATOR MARTINY AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 42:1121(H), relative to the Code of Governmental Ethics; to provide for an2 exception to the post service restrictions for physicians who are former members of3 the governing authority of a hospital service district; and to provide for related4 matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 42:1121(H) is hereby enacted to read as follows:7 ยง1121. Assistance to certain persons after termination of public service8 * * *9 H. Nothing in this Section shall prohibit a licensed physician who is a10 former member of the governing authority of a hospital service district or any11 legal entity in which such licensed physician is an officer, director, trustee,12 partner, or employee from being employed by or from contracting with the13 hospital service district or any entity over which the governing authority of the14 hospital service district exercises supervision or jurisdiction to perform15 professional health care services directly related to his expertise as a licensed16 physician, from contracting with the hospital service district or any entity over17 which the governing authority of the hospital service district exercises18 supervision or jurisdiction for the purchase or lease of property related to the19 licensed physician's health care practice, or from contracting with the hospital20 service district or any entity over which the governing authority of the hospital21 service district exercises supervision or jurisdiction for the sale of the22 physician's practice.23 SB NO. 84 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 Coding: Words which are struck through are deletions from existing law; words in boldface type and underscored are additions. Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor1 or, if not signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law2 without signature by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the3 Constitution of Louisiana.
