(8/1/12) AN ACT1 To repeal R.S. 15:823, relative to corrections services; to provide relative to the director of2 corrections; to repeal reference to the director of corrections; to provide for an3 effective date; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 15:823 is hereby repealed. 6 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on August 1, 2012; if vetoed by the7 governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on8 August 1, 2012, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.9 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Angela L. DIGEST Present law provides that the director of corrections shall be the chief executive, administrative, budgetary and fiscal officer of the Department of Corrections and defines the responsibilities of the position.
