Provides for the expenditure of public funds by any fire protection district, municipal fire department, or volunteer fire department. (8/1/12) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 40:1510, relative to fire protection districts, municipal fire departments or2 volunteer fire departments; to allow expenditure of public funds in connection with3 certain activities; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 40:1510 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6 ยง1510. Expenditure of public funds for awards, recognition and meals7 Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a fire protection8 district, municipal fire department, or volunteer fire department may expend9 public funds in connection with the following activities:10 (1) The purchase of a plaque, trophy, certificate, medal, or similar11 memento to acknowledge outstanding achievement or valiant act of personnel12 not to exceed one hundred dollars.13 (2) Meals for firefighters involved in performing of emergency services14 not to exceed twenty-five dollars per person.15 SB NO. 98 SLS 12RS-233 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 Coding: Words which are struck through are deletions from existing law; words in boldface type and underscored are additions.
