A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request that the Department of Transportation and Development study LA 37,2
between its intersection with Sullivan Road and its intersection with LA 409 (Liberty3
Road) in East Baton Rouge Parish, to improve its safety to the traveling public.4
WHEREAS, LA 37, between its intersection with Sullivan Road and its intersection5
with LA 409 (Liberty Road) in East Baton Rouge Parish, has inadequate shoulders,6
inadequate drainage, and numerous curves posing dangerous driving conditions to the7
traveling public; and8
WHEREAS, LA 37, between its intersection with Sullivan Road and its intersection9
with LA 409 (Liberty Road) in East Baton Rouge Parish, has insufficient signage to warn10
motorists of intersecting roadways; and11
WHEREAS, numerous accidents, including accidents which resulted in serious12
bodily injuries and fatalities, have occurred on LA 37, between its intersection with Sullivan13
Road and its intersection with LA 409 (Liberty Road) in East Baton Rouge Parish. 14
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby15
urge and request that the Department of Transportation and Development study LA 37,16
between its intersection with Sullivan Road and its intersection with LA 409 (Liberty Road)17
in East Baton Rouge Parish, to improve its safety to the traveling public.18 SCR NO. 116

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation and1
Development submit a written report of its findings, recommendations, and actions taken,2
if any, to the House and Senate committees on transportation, highways and public works3
no later than March 1, 2013.4
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the5
secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development.6
