SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 137
BY SENATORS GALLOT, KOSTELKA AND LONG AND REPRESENTATIVES
BROADWATER, COX, JEFFERSON, SHADOI N AND SMITH 
LEGISLATIVE AGENCIES. Requests legislative fiscal office to study the means and
methods used to fund the operation of laboratory schools in Louisiana.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request the legislative fiscal office to update the report issued in March 20062
pursuant to House Resolution No. 133 of the 2005 Regular Session regarding the3
means and methods used to provide funding for the operation of laboratory schools4
around the state, including but not limited to issues concerning equity and fairness5
in funding methods and amounts, and to report its findings and recommendations in6
writing to the Senate and House committees on education on or before February 1,7
2013.8
WHEREAS, through the adoption of House Resolution No. 133 of the 2005 Regular9
Session, the House of Representatives requested that the legislative fiscal office study the10
means and methods used to provide state dollars and other funding for the operation of11
laboratory schools around the state, including but not limited to issues concerning equity and12
fairness in funding methods and amounts; and13
WHEREAS, pursuant to House Resolution No. 133, the legislative fiscal office14
conducted a study and provided a report to the House Committee on Education in March15
2006; and16
WHEREAS, there is a need to update the study, findings, and options contained in17
the 2006 report.18 SCR NO. 137

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby1
urge and request the legislative fiscal office to update the report issued in March 20062
pursuant to House Resolution No. 133 of the 2005 Regular Session regarding the means and3
methods used to provide funding for the operation of laboratory schools around the state,4
including but not limited to issues concerning equity and fairness in funding methods and5
amounts, and to report its findings and recommendations in writing to the Senate and House6
committees on education on or before February 1, 2013.7
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the8
legislative fiscal officer.9
