Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 137 BY SENATORS GALLOT, KOSTELKA AND LONG AND REPRESENTATIVES BROADWATER, COX, JEFFERSON, SHADOIN, SMITH AND HONORE A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To urge and request the legislative fiscal office to update the report issued in March 2006 pursuant to House Resolution No. 133 of the 2005 Regular Session regarding the means and methods used to provide funding for the operation of laboratory schools around the state, including but not limited to issues concerning equity and fairness in funding methods and amounts, and to report its findings and recommendations in writing to the Senate and House committees on education on or before February 1, 2013. WHEREAS, through the adoption of House Resolution No. 133 of the 2005 Regular Session, the House of Representatives requested that the legislative fiscal office study the means and methods used to provide state dollars and other funding for the operation of laboratory schools around the state, including but not limited to issues concerning equity and fairness in funding methods and amounts; and WHEREAS, pursuant to House Resolution No. 133, the legislative fiscal office conducted a study and provided a report to the House Committee on Education in March 2006; and WHEREAS, there is a need to update the study, findings, and options contained in the 2006 report. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the legislative fiscal office to update the report issued in March 2006 pursuant to House Resolution No. 133 of the 2005 Regular Session regarding the means and methods used to provide funding for the operation of laboratory schools around the state, including but not limited to issues concerning equity and fairness in funding methods and amounts, and to report its findings and recommendations in writing to the Senate and House committees on education on or before February 1, 2013.
