Terrebonne upon her retirement from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To commend Mary Julia S. Terrebonne upon her retirement from the Louisiana Department2 of Health and Hospitals.3 WHEREAS, Mrs. Terrebonne is a native of Thibodeaux and grew up in Cut Off,4 Louisiana; and5 WHEREAS, in 1974, she graduated from South Lafourche High School in Galliano,6 Louisiana, and in 1979, she was a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, School7 of Pharmacy and remains a licensed pharmacist; and8 WHEREAS, fondly known to friends and family as "MJ" she married Charles9 "Chuck" Terrebonne on May 3, 1980; and10 WHEREAS, she and her husband have two sons, Marcel and Charles II "Chase"11 Terrebonne; and12 WHEREAS, Mrs. Terrebonne has provided years of outstanding service and13 dedication to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals; and14 WHEREAS, she developed and administered the statewide Medicaid pharmacy15 program, known as the Louisiana Medicaid Pharmacy Benefits Management System; and16 WHEREAS, she provided the department with dedicated service that has resulted in17 the availability and accessibility of over eleven million prescription services and in excess18 SCR NO. 48 SLS 12RS-1315 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 of four hundred and seventy million dollars in net expenditures to approximately nine1 hundred thousand Medicaid recipients annually; and2 WHEREAS, Mrs. Terrebonne, served the Louisiana Medicaid program for over3 twenty-nine years and due to her tireless energy, efforts and innovative ideas, she was4 selected to be the Louisiana pharmacy program director; and5 WHEREAS, her leadership was essential to the administration of an exemplary6 program in compliance with state statutes and federal Medicaid regulations and reforms; and7 WHEREAS, in recent years, Mrs. Terrebonne was instrumental in the8 implementation and administration of numerous Medicaid drug program cost containment9 measures, such as the Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee, state supplemental drug10 rebate system, prescription drug prior authorization system, and recipient monthly11 prescription limits, without compromising the program's effectiveness and integrity; and12 WHEREAS, she has dedicated her life to bettering the health and welfare of the13 citizens of Louisiana, and has touched so many who have had the privilege to learn from,14 work with, and know her; and15 WHEREAS, upon her retirement, Mrs. Terrebonne is looking forward to relaxing,16 enjoying life and creating new memories with her husband, sons, family and friends.17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby18 commend and extend gratitude to Mrs. Mary Julia "MJ" S. Terrebonne for her outstanding19 service and over twenty-nine years to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Mrs.21 Mary Julia "MJ" S.
