BY SENATOR PEACOCK AND REPRESENTATI VE SEABAUGH
COMMENDATIONS. Commends Georgia Lynn Hilburn upon being named the Louisiana
2012 Elementary School Student of the Year.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend and congratulate Georgia Lynn Hilburn of South Highlands Magnet2
Elementary School in Caddo Parish on being selected as the Louisiana 20123
Elementary School Student of the Year.4
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the Legislature of Louisiana recognizes the5
energy, intelligence, and self-motivation of Georgia Lynn Hilburn, a true leader and role6
model among her peers; and7
WHEREAS, Ms. Hilburn's dedication to academic achievement and drive to do her8
best at all times are evident in her unblemished academic record; she is a straight-A student;9
and10
WHEREAS, in addition to her academic success, Ms. Hilburn is also an11
accomplished athlete who swims and plays soccer competitively; she is also the current12
IronFish Kids Triathlon champion for her age division and has been chosen to represent her13
school in the regional fitness meet in 2012; and14
WHEREAS, Ms. Hilburn also enjoys reading, writing, and playing tennis and the15
piano; and16
WHEREAS, Georgia Lynn Hilburn, the daughter of Jennifer and Cary Hilburn and17
sister of fellow academic standouts, Olivia and Samantha Hilburn, is a talented Louisiana18 SCR NO. 67

student who demonstrates impeccable leadership and a commitment to excellence that is1
truly commendable, without a doubt meriting receipt of the Caddo Public Schools 20122
Elementary School Student of the Year award and being designated a finalist for, and then3
the recipient of, the state 2012 Elementary School Student of the Year award.4
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby5
highly commend and congratulate Georgia Lynn Hilburn of South Highlands Magnet6
Elementary School in Caddo Parish on being selected as the Louisiana 2012 Elementary7
School Student of the Year.8
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that best wishes are hereby extended to Georgia9
Lynn Hilburn for continued success and happiness in the future.10
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to11
Georgia Lynn Hilburn.12
