SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 75
BY SENATORS PEACOCK AND ADLEY AND REPRESENTATI VE THOMPSON 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends Taylor Cox on being elected President of the Student
Government Association at LSU in Baton Rouge.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON	Present law1
To commend and congratulate Taylor Cox on being elected President of the Student2
Government Association at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.3
WHEREAS, Taylor Cox is a twenty-one year old junior at Louisiana State University4
in Baton Rouge studying mass communications with a concentration in public relations; and5
WHEREAS, he was recently elected president of the LSU Student Government6
Association marking the first time a Bossier City native has occupied the office; and7
WHEREAS, Taylor Cox is the son of Richard and Susan Cox of Bossier City and8
was president of the Airline High School Student Government Association prior to his9
graduation in 2009; and 10
WHEREAS, as LSU SGA president, he will be the voice of more than twenty-nine11
thousand students; and12
WHEREAS, among his goals as president are to lead the fight against further budget13
cuts in higher education; to implement a co-curricular transcript to make students more14
marketable; and to create Tiger Night, a weekly alcohol-free networking event on campus15
to maintain a level of diversity; and 16
WHEREAS, Taylor Cox wants LSU students to feel like valuable members of the17
Tiger family and know that LSU is their home away from home; and18 SCR NO. 75

WHEREAS, he hopes to open a leadership development camp after graduation; and1
WHEREAS, Taylor Cox is certainly a future leader of society and has achieved2
success through determination and motivation.3
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana hereby4
congratulates and commends Taylor Cox on being elected as President of the Student5
Government Association at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.6
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature joins his family, professors, and7
classmates for recognizing and inspiring him to set and achieve extraordinary goals and be8
a visionary with passion.9
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to10
Taylor Cox.11
