Commends St. Charles Catholic High School football team on winning the Class 3A 2011 State Championship. A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To commend and congratulate the St. Charles Catholic High School Football Team upon its2 nonpareil excellence during the 2011 football season that culminated in winning the3 2011 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 3A State Championship.4 WHEREAS, the St. Charles Catholic High School Football Team, under the tutelage5 of Head Coach Frank Monica and assistant coaches Paul Waguespack, Ty Monica, Wayne6 Stein, Tom Buisson, Chris Perrone, Mike Pecoraro, Jerry Schexnayder, Millard Roberson,7 and Alex Vicknair were crowned the District 7-3A Champs, after completing an impressive8 district schedule and sweeping the district with a stellar record of five victories and no9 defeats; and10 WHEREAS, the team capped off a magnificent season by winning the 201111 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 3A State Championship and finishing12 with an outstanding overall record of fifteen victories and no defeats; and13 WHEREAS, in winning the championship, the St. Charles Catholic Comets displayed14 the courage, determination, fortitude, and desire of all championship teams; and15 WHEREAS, Head Coach Frank Monica and his team of assistant coaches with their16 excellent coaching and motivational skills led the team to the school's first Class 3A state17 football championship title, and Coach Frank Monica was named the District 7-3A Coach18 SCR NO. 91 SLS 12RS-1079 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 3 of the Year, and NFL High School Coach of the Year for the state of Louisiana; and1 WHEREAS, the St. Charles Catholic High School football players, coaches,2 managers, trainer, and videographer all displayed both excellence and impeccable team3 concept throughout the season, and each of the intrepid young players deserves individual4 recognition for their vital contribution to the winning effort and the success of the football5 program at St. Charles Catholic High School; and 27 WHEREAS, the coaches have instilled in these players the kind of leadership and28 motivational skills needed to achieve great success both on and off the football field; and29 WHEREAS, through its display of good sportsmanship, hard work, and outstanding30 SCR NO. 91 SLS 12RS-1079 ORIGINAL Page 3 of 3 play on the field and off, the St. Charles High School Comets bring a commanding sense of1 honor and immense pride to their school, their city, and to the state of Louisiana; and2 WHEREAS, the Legislature of Louisiana joins the citizens of Louisiana in3 commending the coaches and players of St. Charles Catholic High School Football Team for4 their hard work and outstanding accomplishment on winning the state Class 3A State5 Championship Title.6 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby7 commend and congratulate the St. Charles Catholic High School football team upon its8 nonpareil excellence during the 2011 football season that culminated in winning the9 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 3A State Championship Title. 10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the11 principal, Andrew Cupit, and head football coach, Frank Monica, of St. Charles Catholic12 High School.13 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Tammy Crain Waldrop.
